Bring your series to Hookline

Hookline streams short drama series centered on Black life: African and diaspora history, culture, family, love, faith, fantasy and the present day. If you make vertical micro-dramas, we want to see them.

Anyone can apply. We judge the series, not who made it.

What qualifies

• The story centers on Black characters and Black experiences, in any genre: history, drama, romance, thriller, fantasy, comedy.
• At least 3 episodes ready, each 30 seconds to 3 minutes.
• Vertical 9:16 video, MP4 (H.264 + AAC), 720x1280 or 1080x1920, up to 150 MB per episode.
• In English, or with burned-in English subtitles.
• A hook in the first 3 seconds of Episode 1 and a cliffhanger at the end of each episode.
• A poster image, tall (about 3:4), JPG or PNG, under 5 MB.

Rules

• You made it or own the rights to everything in it: footage, script, voices, images.
• Music is licensed for this use, with the credit line the licence asks for (put it in "Credits").
• AI tools are welcome. Your AI tool's plan must allow commercial use, and the series is labeled "Made with AI".
• Anyone recognizable on screen agreed to appear. No real living people imitated without their consent.

• No sexual content or nudity, and nothing sexual or exploitative involving minors, ever.
• No hate speech, harassment, or content that demeans any group.
• No graphic gore, real violence, or anything illegal. Think PG-13.
• No uploads of other people's shows, films or clips.

How it works

• Upload the episodes, then press "Submit for review".
• We watch it and approve it or tell you what to fix. Approved series go live for every Hookline viewer, with the first episodes free.
